It’s time to say “goodbye”. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately and as many of you know (or have noticed), I have not been posting too regularly and I haven’t been around visiting other blogs. There are several reasons for this. Life is the most pressing. My family and homelife come first. Then there is work, which helps to pay the bills. I am also really trying to make a go of my bead shop and that takes a lot of time and promoting.
But there is also another reason and that is I’ve lost the heart to blog….at least about political and current event issues. I can hardly stand to watch the news anymore and the political (so-called) “leaders” in Washington disgust me. I’m disheartened and frustrated and I’ve decided that I’m going to stop blogging here for a while. I will continue with “Wednesday Heroes” and the updates for Bill Rollins’ Ironman competition because I have made a commitment to them, but I will no longer be blogging otherwise.
Thank you to all the readers and blog friends who have stopped by and commented and even those who just lurked over the past (almost) two years first at blogspot and then here. It’s been an experience and one that I may enjoy again one day, but now it’s time to say, “See ya later…”

Oh, I’m going to miss your posts! I’ve so enjoyed them. But I do understand – it does get to be rather much day after freakin’ day. Family is so much more enjoyable!
Good luck with your business ~ I have your store bookmarked so I can check in on your latest creations.
Please stop by my place once in awhile and say hey~
Anna,
You will be missed..
But believe it or not.. I understand.. Things are rotten all over.
My faith is more important to me than anything — so most of my blogs have morphed from political with a tad of my faith to more of my faith with a tad of political.. but primarily as it applies to my and my readers faith.
Will miss you.. but have fun.
In Christ eternally,
ExP(Jack)
Dear Anna,
How sad, but understandable! I have kind of been doing the same thing since November, but have felt more motivated lately. Perhaps you’ll come back to it too!
Have a wonderful time with your family and good luck with your bead shop! I will still visit!
With Love and Prayers,
Lady Jane
You will definitely be missed!!!!
Stop by the ‘new digs’ now and then, let me know how you’re doing, ok?
http://www.olbroad.com
I understand your frustration, Anna.
Family is always first. If you blog again, great. If not, that’s ok too.
Take care
Tom
Going to miss you Anna and understand completely…but you’re not giving up cafe mocha too are you?
I know the feeling about the politicians and politics now adays. I stay pissed most of the time about it.But I ain’t giving up just yet..might go buy some more ammo though.
Thank you so much for all your wonderful responses. I will still have my rosebyname.blogspot.com, which is my beading blog, but this one is going on hiatus except for Wednesday Hero posts and Bill’s Ironman updates. You can always stop by the bead blog to say “Hi” and hopefully by letting go of this one, I will actually have time to make some blog reading rounds!
Yankeemom, thank you so much and let me know if I can make something for you or your daughter!
Jack, my blog was much more political a year ago, but became more troop support (which in and of itself can be a political issue). I so appreciate your thoughtful comments and well wishes!
Thank you Lady Jane! I hope to see you around. I will stop by now and again!
Ol’Broad, I love the new digs and I will keep visiting whenever I get the chance!
Tom, I must really apologize to you as I’ve not only let my own blog go, but I have been completely absent from Conserva-Puppies and for letting you down about that. Thank you for your understanding!
Oh, you’ll know where to find me M*A! And oh, yes, mochas are still a priority! Maybe after this grad party craziness is over we will have a chance to get together?!
GUYK, if I am ever in your neck of the woods, I know I will be safe from all the political varmits! You are a dear and don’t you change!
Thanks again everyone!
I will miss you, Anna. If you change your mind and decide to come back (as others have when something got them excited enough to blog again), please drop me a line and let me know.
By the way, I don’t think you’re alone in feeling disheartened right now. The news seems to be same old, same old, and last Fall’s elections were kind of sad. However, rather than pointing fingers at the Democrats — “it’s all your fault” — I think Republicans have been trying to learn from the debacle, and that’s a good thing. As the months go by, you may definitely want to make your voice heard again, because blogging citizens are part of the education process the conservative side of the political spectrum needs.
Enjoy your holiday from blogging, though, and don’t be a stranger at my blog.
Thanks Book. I’m sure you’re right and maybe if I can make a go of the beading and I don’t have so many other commitments, I will be back, I’m sure and I will have to come to your place to visit more often as I always feel more enlightened when I do!
Best of luck with your future endeavors. I can say I have been feeling the same…very burnt out on the political process and world around me. I have been asking myself what is the point of blogging.
Dear lovely Ann-n-n-a,
Clearly, many friends will miss you. Got a jump on them, I have missed you for the last 5 months.
Hold on tight to your family. When they are gone, nothing-but nothing-will replace them
God speed, sweet child.
Mark
It is discouraging, Brian. Thanks for the good wishes!
Awww, thank you so much Mark! You brought a tear to my eye! You’re a good man and I’ve missed your wonderful sarcasm, too!
You’re a good person Anna. I have confidence that you’ll do what you can, whether it is for the Wednesday Heroes or something else in the future.
I’m sure I’ll be back eventually, Ymarsakar. Thanks for all your insightful comments!
Gonna miss you, Anna. I trust when you take a little time off you’ll realize you still have plenty to blog about. It doesn’t have to be News, y’know!
*Hugs!*
Gonna miss you!
Annanonymous,
You’re probably one of the sweetest, nicest people I’ve ever had the chance to meet (via electrons).
Do what you feel is right. You will be missed by at least one Stewy Magooey.
Benning, you can still visit me. I still have my arosebyname.blogspot.com, it’s just my beading blog now. I’ll have to start adding art there, too. Stop by anytime!
Stew-be-do, you and your wife are such wonderful people! Keep up the great work with the muppets and come see me at my other blog (the old blogspot listed on the sidebar)! Who knows, maybe you’ll find the perfect gift for that beautiful, very patient wife of yours!
Your posts will be missed.
Just to be a bit bothersome, for I appreciated your insight on the World and Our Country…
This Democracy needs amazing Americans like yourself.
Part of being Conservative is understanding Humans are perfect, Gov. is flawed, and Politicians are even weaker.
But there are some we can be proud of, and although immigration is a difficult issue, and just because we disagree with some of them on one issue, doesn’t change all the good so many fine Representatives have provided.
I guess I just don’t want to see such fine associate become so blue, over challenges which have been truly difficult for decades.
Please take great care…
Email when you are need.
Best wishes.
whoops…
as is Human Beings are NOT perfect.
Anna,
Ack! I just saw this. I’m sorry to see you (temporarily?) go from blogging. I’d like to thank you for posting excellent content that was easily enjoyable & sparked lively conversation. I’m a big fan of the art on this site as well.
I wish you well as you take that next step & hope one day you’re willing to enamor us with a lively post or two. I’ve enjoyed your site & will pop in here every now & then in hopes (I’m an optimist, I guess) of seeing fresh content.
Fair winds & following seas,
Hapkido
BB,
You’re a dear and it’s OK. They won’t get me to quit voting my conscience and I won’t give up on hope, I just tired of the anger and feel that life is too short to put up with all the BS. Thanks for always coming by and I will probably be back when life settles down (if that ever happens!)
Oh, and I knew what you meant!
Hapkido, thank you so much for your kind words. I will probably continue to post the art on my other blog since it’s my creative outlet and I do get inspiration from that art! I’m sure I will be back eventually, I just really need to get away from the politics and constant anger that seems to be a part of politics these days.
Thanks again…
As I gradually return from a temporary hiatus myself, I understand the need to get away from the everyday grind – and topics that seem to consume our lives. Keep the faith, and don’t be afraid to come back. We’ll keep the water warm and the iced cap cool!
RWT
Omigosh, Anna…
I know this is just temporary — Some Soldiers Mom said the same thing a while back, and she continued to post every now and again. To every thing there is a season…
I’ll be popping in now and then to check on your Wednesday’s heroes and see how you’re doing.
Warmest wishes,
Andrea
Thank you so much RWT! I’m sure I’ll be back eventually, but I just need to take a break and get my life in sync.
You’re probably right Andrea! Keep up the great work with the radio show and I’ll try to pop in the big blue ballroom every once in a while…
I’m delighted to know that the lack of posts here is, in a sense, voluntary. Do enjoy your break. Call it a sabbatical if it makes you feel better. (Hey, you’re a pro. Talk like one if you like.
I’m of the opinion that we need more people who step out of the opinions-and-politics whirlwind now and then to reconnect with the world outside Commentaryville. If everyone’s caught up in the ratrace, who keeps the track in usable shape? (How’s that for mixing metaphors?)
Best wishes.
Love the metaphors, Kathryn and thank you! Now, I think I will go work on my latest bead project!
Good luck with your endeavors. I too took a break, but hey… the blog doesn’t go away just because you leave it for a while. As the mood strikes, feel free to jot a line or too from time to time.
Blogging is an addiction that is hard to get over, so I probably will be lurking. Thanks for the kind words, Malinda!
Think of all the other blogs you can read now, Anna. It can easily fight the addiction to write.
Too true, ymarsakar!
Sorry it’s taken me a while to respond. I’m at summer camp all day long and come home wiped out, from 7am to 9pm, most days. Plus my car needs a new engine, and I’ve been bussing it; and I lost my only phone on the bus and the person who found it hung up on me when I called my own phone!
Anyway, I understand the need to take a break and the burnout over politics….it grinds you down.
I’ve taken my own breaks a couple of times- most recently, after my short trip to NYC, I stayed away for another week from even responding to comments. It was good, and I’ve got my 2nd wind.
I remain optimistic about President Bush’s role in history and about the war, in spite of the political squabble in Washington and the drumbeat of the MSM.
Thanks for all that you do and have done on your blog; the service you’ve provided to our brave men and women. And go out and enjoy life and the real world with no regrets. We should all get out and enjoy more fresh air.
Thank you Word, as always you get to the heart of it and I so appreciate your kind words!
