Taylor‘s dream was to meet some Marines while she was in Bethesda for some medical testing and as you can see, her dream came true.

Taylor’s Mom, Cathy, shares her thoughts on that visit:
When I was first told that this group was coming to visit Taylor, I was amazed. First all, by how I was even contacted. But then, that these men were willing to come visit. When I got the call they were coming, Andy told me they were changing. I assumed all into cammies. WRONG! And I also assumed, just a few would be there. WRONG! I was sitting along side the door, so I didn’t even see when they first approached. I heard a noise and stood and saw the glorious sight of a Marine in his dress blues. He shook my hand and walked in, then another, then another, then another and it didn’t stop until my daughters room was full of Marines!Everyone reading this, our Marines are the best. The Naval hospital pulled out all the stops for Taylor in allowing her to do her job in visiting the severely wounded. Major Pain, he came to visit one night and spent over 2 hours trying to find us and couldn’t, so he came back another night. These fine Marines, gave up their time to come visit Taylor for, well, it meant the world. She was so impressed. Heck, the WHOLE wing was impressed! The spirit that was given to Taylor this week has been priceless. She views herself a full Marine, and her brothers showed her she really is that. Each one of these young men that showed up, it was our USMC at it’s finest. Reaching out to one of their own, to let her know how important she was. Giving her the strength she will now need to face yet an even bigger battle then what we had thought would happen. One of the tests showed our biggest fear. But Taylor, because of what has been given her, she will fight. I as her mother, because of what was given to Taylor, in turn, gave me the strength as well to help her fight. We are more then honored to be a part of the Marine Corps family. I am more then proud to say I am a Marine Mom and I am more then honored to know each and every single one of these Marines that reached out and gave my daughter a gift, a gift of pride, sense of family, sense of brotherhood, sense of just what exactly being a Marine really is. OOH RAH to all of you, and Semper Fi. (Also, you guys, you made us an offer and know, we intend to take you up on that!!!!)I will be in touch soon, THANK YOU!Cathy

God Bless you, Cathy and Taylor!
You are both such an inspiration ~
Thanks for sharing this with us, Anna.
[...] There’s a girl named Taylor fighting for her life and still takes time to send care packages to the troops and our elected idiots are slinging poo poo at their opponents and spending millions to do so? [...]
Marvelous, Anna! I followed all the links! Great posting!
They are all so amazing, Yankeemom! It’s great when you can read stories like this instead of the garbage they have in the papers and on the TV.
Thank you, benning. Little Taylor, her mom and those Marines are such an inspiration that you can’t help but pass their story along!
Thank you for the link, too, Yankeemom!
Anna! I just sat down and started reading your latest entries. I’m so glad my tissues were right here at hand. What an amazing little girl. Surely God’s spirit is alive in her.
Thank you for posting this story.
Love,
Marilyn
Thank you Marilyn! I was just inspired by her spirit and the way that not only she touched the Marines, but how the Marines gave her strength is so wonderful! I know, I really should post “kleenex warnings” on these posts!
I finally got around to following up and reading Taylor’s story. Thanks Anna! Saw it here first.
Thanks Word!

I know this article is two years old but I’ve been looking for good Marine dedication sites/pages/anything. I’ve had many of the closest people in my life serve in the military and each of these stories effects me in a way I can’t even explain. My boyfriend just recently went for basic training. I’ve always been very pro-military, especially when two of my close friends joined the Army/Marines, but I never once in my life dreamed that I would be one of those girls who sat at home constantly wondering if they’re loved one was okay, and it’s an experience I have started learning to cope with, I don’t know a lot of other people in this situation so I sometimes don’t know where else to turn except to anyone who respects the Marines just as much. These people are heroes and the way they acted, making all of that extra effort, really did prove they are the best in the world. I can’t think you enough for sharing this. It’s a beautiful thing to see any type of military praise, it seems our country has started to lack much of this. Thanks again, and God Bless.
LCPL Mouring! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting and thank you most especially for your service!
Jessie, be sure to check out the blogs in my “Heroes and Homefront” sidebar. These are wonderful people who have either served, are serving or keeping the home fires burning. They are a great support to each other and those who support the military! Hang in there and know you are not alone!
This gave me a sense of pride, for in 6 months I’m going to enlist into the Marines. and for all of those out there struggling, let Taylor be and inspiration to keep fighting the Good fight. Taylor I salute you, Semper Fi, and God Bless. Cathy you have a daughter to be proud of.

Hi I’m wondering how I can get in touch with Cathy and Taylor. I make little purses out of old cammies with name tapes. I would love to make one for Taylor.
[...] you look at my “Top Posts” section, you will see that the very top one is Message From A Marine Mom. If you haven’t read this post, I encourage you to read it with kleenex on hand. I have had [...]
This is a great story, very inspiring! Though I am young, only 13, I have already made the final decision to join the Marines when I am of age. I respect those who have served for our country very much and pray, for the sake of their loved ones, that they may return home unharmed. Thanks for posting this story!
A song that goes great with the Marines, in my opinion, is Hero by Skillet; If you’d like to check it out, here’s the link:
Thank you all for your continued responses to this post! Taylor is still supporting the Marines, heart and soul! Check out her update here: The Littlest Marine: An Update
Damn! Those Marines look gooooood! That woman messed up the picture, she needs to move! lol
