In honor of the new look here, I thought I would post a beautiful painting instead of my Silly Signs. This is Song of the Angels by one of benning‘s favorite artists, William-Adolphe Bouguereau.

Trackbacked to the beautiful pictures at Angel‘s place!

Thank you, Anna. It is a wonderful painting. I love the detail, especially in the angels’ hands. I can’t tell, because I don’t play stringed instruments, but I’d bet their fingers are in the proper positions on the violin and lute to play harmonious notes that would blend with each other, if we could only hear the painting as well as see it. Can any of your other readers tell?
This is beautiful!! I love the template – but I liked the other one as well. It is so pretty. I always think I have to go with blue because of the name of my blog – but this suits roses just fine – maybe I can change too?? lol
Anyway – VERY NICE!
Judyrose, I do believe they have their fingers in a correct position for the instruments. Whether they are in harmonious notes, I’m not sure as I have not played a mandolin (just a guitar).
I just love the softness of the angels’ wings and the puddling of the gowns/robe, it’s just gorgeous!
Thank you, beth. You know, you could still go with a blue, just use a smokey blue or a midnight blue. You could also go with another color with just a blue accent. Change is good! And that’s what I wanted…a change. Andrea asked if I was doing fall cleaning! I suppose so, this green is so soothing and warm, it’s fall-like.
Beautiful.
I’m not an art guy, but I know what I like.
Thanks, Anna.
And thanks for stopping by, too!!
Hey jimmyb, thank you! I try to stop by on a regular basis, but alas, work has been getting in the way. Then I literally spent most of the weekend on my “new digs”! Aw, well, such is life!
Aw…so so beautiful Anna..thank u so much!
Thank you, Angel! I love the fall season! I think it’s even more beautiful then spring! I have a few fall pictures I’ll have to share!
Beautiful!
I would love to be that talented, wouldn’t you, Word? (Or are you? I know you are amazing at origami!) Bouguereau was brilliant!
