These are my first posts when I started blogging a year ago, back in the day when I was over at Blogspot (aka Blogsnot). I’ve come a long way, learned a lot (thank you Harvey of Bad Example for all your help and blogging tips!) and made many, many blogging friends (check out my Favorite Places on the sidebar)! I have had the priviledge of being linked by Michelle Malkin, had a post read on the news in Oklahoma City and of course, mentioned on air, linked to and become friends with Andrea Shea King and Mark Vance of Constitutional Public Radio and their blog, The Radio Patriots). They are great people and I must give a giant thank you to THIRDWAVEDAVE for introducing me to them!

To begin at the beginningAs good a place to start as any.
Just trying to learn the ins and outs of webposting and site creation. Old dog/new tricks and all that. Hoping to understand it enough to do a little e-commerce. We shall see if any of this is possible.posted by Anna @ 12:11 PM Welcome | Track (0)
Hurricane
Sat in front of the TV watching the devastation in the Southern states. So thankful not to be living there, but heartsick for the people who do…or rather did. To lose absolutely everything including, in some instances, loved ones. Bet the world will not come running to help though they did when the Tsunami hit Indonesia.

Live This Life
by Big & Rich
“Met a man on the street last night,
Said his name was Jesus.
Met a man on the street last night.
Thought he was crazy till I watched him heal a blind man.
I watched him heal a blind man and now I see.I’ll live this life until this life won’t let me live here anymore,
Then I will walk, yes I will walk with patience through that open door.
I have no fears, angels follow me wherever I may go.
I’ll live this life until this life won’t let me live here anymore.Met a girl in a chair with wheels, but no one else would see her.
Met a girl in a chair with wheels.
Everyone was so afraid to even look down on her,
And she just spread her little wings and flew away.I’ll live this life until this life won’t let me live her anymore,
Then I will walk, yes I will walk with patience through that open door.
I have no fears, angels follow me wherever I may go.
I’ll live this life until this life won’t let me live here anymore.Met a kid on a bridge last night, contemplating freedom.
Met a kid on a bridge last night.
And he said, ‘I’m tired of this maddening life and I’m ready to go meet Jesus.’
And I said, ‘He’s a friend of mine. Met him just last night and it’s all right.’It’s all right…
I’ll live this life until this life won’t let me live here anymore,
Then I will walk, yes I will walk with patience through that open door.
I have no fears, angels follow me wherever I may go.
I’ll live this life until this life won’t let me live here anymore.Met a man on the street last night, said his name was Jesus.
Met a man on the street last night….”

By the by, that e-commerce thing didn’t work out so well. It might have something to with all the time I spent blogging!

Happy Blogversary!!
Congrats!
Many best wishes for many more years of blogging! You’re one of the good ones and we’re proud to have you in the State of Ohio Blogger Alliance.
You’re so good at blogging, Anna, it’s very hard to believe you’ve only been at it for a year! I depend on you, & a few others, to keep me informed. You write great commentary, as well. Plus, I love the balance you provide — so needed in today’s difficult times. While you accurately report & thoughtfully discuss the hard stuff, you continue to remind us that much beauty & wisdom STILL exists in our world.
You are appreciated! Many congrats on your one year anniversary! Keep on bloggin’!
Thank you, Linda! How are you doing these days?!
Thank you, Tom!
Matt, that is so kind of you and I appreciate the SOB Alliance. It’s nice to read up on issues and items that affect my home state.
Trish, I cannot thank you enough for those lovely words! It’s great to have regular readers like you, as you keep me going. I’d probably go bonkers if I didn’t have this outlet and responses!
Anna,
Happy first year. It’s been great knowing you and I look forward to a long blogging relationship. You’re the best!!
Oh, Dave, that is so nice of you to say! Thank you!
Anna!
Happy anniversary. You have created something beautiful, thoughtful, and inviting.
So glad we found “A Rose By Name”. We think of you as one of the family.
Congratulations,
Andrea & Mark
Thank you so much, Andrea & Mark…the feeling is mutual!
congratulations ANNA…
Hey! Happy blogiversary! You’ve been good from the start and just keep getting better.
Happy happy, you are talented and drive liberals crazy. And I love you it!
Your loyal reader Mr. Magooey
love it… Good God Jen just walked by, sees my screen and says “who do you love?”
feh… gotta laugh
Thank you, hNAV!
Thank you, bookworm! That means a lot coming from such a fabulous blogger such as yourself. I only wish I could write half as well as you do!
Thanks Stew! And tell Jen not to worry…you only love me for my dog!
Oh and Stew, while going through my old posts I found that you, Chris (gbfan of Spottedhorse) and Gina (Gina’s Rantings) were my first consistent visitors!
Happy Blogaversery Anna! You’ve come a long way baby!
Amazing how you get so many good commenters too. Some day you’re going to have to tell me your secret for dealing with the lefty moonbats.
Happy Blogiversary! I cannot even remember now how I first came to visit here. Maybe CJ; maybe some other mutual blog we visit. Anyway, I have appreciated your posting style and all of your comments on my own blog. Hope we’re both still floating around in the blogosphere for many years to come.
Thank you Mike!
Well, to be honest, I don’t deal with the moonbats. Since moving to wordpress I’ve only had two and one I outright banned and the other, well, he’s been back once, but he behaved. For the most part, I’m low profile enough not to get a lot of moonbat traffic.
Thank you Word! Yes, it probably was CJ or even Capt B. Both great bloggers! I hope we are all blogging for some time to come as well. I can’t imagine not blogging!
Last Days On Earth
Anna at A Rose By Any Other Name celebrates her first Blogiversary!Happy First Blogiversary, Anna!
Celebrate! Celebrate!
Happy First, Anna!
Thank you benning!!
Wow! You have come a long way!! Congratulations:)
Thank you, LB! It’s been fun and I don’t know now what I would do without it!
Dear Anna,
Congratulations on your first blogiversary and many, many more! I know I don’t get around to my favorite corners of the ‘net as much as I’d like, but I’ve always enjoyed my visits here (even though I have a terrible habit of lurking more than commenting).
You have quite a bit of talent for finding and sharing interesting items, particularly uplifting bits about America and its outstanding men and women in uniform. Keep up the great work!
I only hope that I helped expand your well-deserved audience a little. (Maybe someday, I’ll get back on my own blogging horse and do more than the photo contests again myself.) As far as I am concerned, you will always be a member of The Right Place Family! Thanks for everything and congratulations!
Thank you! Yes, The Right Place has expanded my audience (though it has brought trolls, too!
) I will post over there again, soon! Don’t worry about commenting, lurking is good, too.
Thank you, too, for allowing me to continue being a part of The Right Place Family!
Congratulations, Anna! I’ve found that one year in blogging is sort of like “dog years.” Some days it feels as if it’s been 7 (or more).
It’s been great interacting with you long distance at The Right Place, and your comments at Joust The Facts are always appreciated.
Keep up the great work.
I forgot to mention (in my earlier congratulatory note) how many kudos you deserve for remembering our troops the wonderful way you do; an unbelievable oversight! “A Rose By Any Other Name” is a soldier’s best friend, a true inspiration.
YOU are the reason I am now a proud Soldier’s Angel, getting ready to send a 2nd goodie-box (& third letter) to my VERY OWN soldier, a young Marine Sgt. located in the Al Anbar Province of Western Iraq. My exposure to SA would never have happened, without your blog. Equally excited about the SA project is my husbsand — who asked that I send him SA’s website, so he can spread the word at his work. I, also, have two friends that just signed-up because they wanted to Angel a soldier of their own!
So, just look at the beautiful “mini-ripples of good” you have created, Anna. And I’m just ONE reader! Further, I’ll bet each new recruit (stemming from me, who stemmed from YOU), will create ripples of their own… and on & on.
Thank you, TM! I enjoy Joust the Facts! I’m sorry I don’t visit more often! The Right Place is great, too and I need to get back in the swing there as well! Now that the girls are back in school, I’ll actually have a little more free time!
Trish, I am so thrilled that so many of your friends have decided to adopt soldiers through SA! None of them will be sorry and it does a world of good for our guys and gals out there laying their lives on the line for us! Word of mouth can be a great way to get a message out and I’m just glad I could get it started for you!
You’ve also reminded me that I have to get another post up for our soldiers and I need to get goodie boxes out for my guys, too!
Thanks for all your kind words, too! (You’re going to give me a big head!)
Congrats, Anna!
Thanks, Steve O!
