My dad often sends me sky pictures. He lives in Washington state in an area where there are more mountains, valleys and fields then people and he has captured some of the most beautiful sky pictures. This is one of his sunrise photos. Oh, he gets up extremely early for no particular reason, that’s how he is able to see these beautiful sunrises all the time!

What a sky! & so beautifully framed by those trees in the foreground! (We LOVE the Northwest & have to go there at least every other year.) Maybe your dad should consider entering this in, say, Parade Magazine’s Photo Contest — because this is as gorgeous as any I’ve ever seen there! It’s really easy to e-mail entries, too.
I’ll let him know, thanks Trish! (Hey, where have you been lately?!)
Sky pictures win every time – thanks for sharing.
I believe my dad referred to this one as a “Charlton Heston” sky…because of the movie The 10 Commandments.
Where in Washington does he live (approximately)? I live here too, on the east side. It is a beautiful state, but too bad it is so blue (on the west side).
Lady Jane,
He’s smack in the middle. Literally halfway between Seattle and Spokane. He is living in quite the liberal outback. There are a lot of apple orchards and farms run/owned by groups. Yes, he calls them tree-hugging, dirt worshipping hippies!
Gorgeous.
Wow.
Wowza Anna…stunning!!..:)
Thank you, jimmyb! I will be passing these comments along to my Dad!
I thought so, too, Angel! God’s greatness, eh?
Anna, my husband has been “off” for a week so my blog-postings have been in low gear. But I’ve been skimming & reading your site, all along! Can’t go too long without my “Anna fix” as your continuous love & support for our troops uplifts, every time — not to mention all the OTHER wonderful & positive things you share —
like this natural beauty of your dad’s!
Ahhh, thanks Trish! I hope you’ve been having a nice time with your husband being off.
Sounds like the little tiny town I grew up in in north central Washington, Twisp.
jgf, you win the prize! They lived in Carlton for years, but “moved to town” a few years ago!
Wow! And I thought Twisp was small. Don’t bink or you will truly miss Carlton. I miss the small town feel even though it was and is a liberal haven. The most beautiful place on earth.
Yes, jgf! The “town center” of Carlton consists of a general store/gas station and across the street is a body shop. Oh, they did put in a “post office,” but it’s only open about 3 hours a day for a few days a week.
Washington is beautiful, though I am partial to my hometown now.
